Thefts in the area

I wanted to provide you an update regarding Personal theft (e.g. pick pocketing, no violence used), which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey.

Due to a number of parcel thefts happening across the ward (and other personal thefts without violence), we are reaching out to residents to help gain a greater intelligence picture around this issue. To do this we need incidents to be reported either online or via 101 (999 for emergencies), this gives us an accurate picture of the scale of the issue. We would also like to know if you have a doorbell camera or building CCTV, which you can update on your profile. This will help us to identify offenders that may have stolen from you or your neighbours, and by having a more accurate description of offenders in turn improves the quality of our patrols.

If this is an ongoing issue on your street, you can help by informing your neighbours about MetEngage if they are not aware already. In hotspot areas where thefts are occurring our PCSOs will be in the area over the upcoming weeks to help promote MetEngage.
